Chemical peeling features
A peeling is a simple and controlled process that allows the removal of dead cells at the surface of the skin. Different types of acids can be used to target several areas and obtain different results.
- The glycolic acid peeling is the most popular; it is available in concentrations varying from 20% to 70%. Glycolic acid is known under the abbreviation A.H.A. It is a derivative of sugar cane.
- The amino acid peeling contains many antioxidants and reinforces the natural hydration system of the skin. These amino acids are also called A.F.A. Well-known for being very soft, their exfoliating action causes less irritation.
- The Spot Peel contains mandelic acid (an extract of bitter almond). This more aggressive process is used to attenuate an abnormal pigmentation (mask of pregnancy or melasma). This procedure is done in clinic. The product must be removed after a break of 6 to 8 hours, and then, a routine of specific creams must be adopted for a period of 2 months.
Some results are visible right after the first session and the recovery period is basically inexistent. People can usually return to their activities immediately after the procedure.
